About us
With a long history in sustainable packaging, CEO Jan Berbee (right) came across the idea of MycoComposite™ technology from our partner company Ecovative Design in US in 2016, and has been working with the material ever since. Arthur Moree (left), current CTO, joined not long after that when technical knowledge to build a factory was needed. Since then, Grown bio has grown rapidly.
After launching Mushroom® Packaging in Europe, collaborations with designers were started to introduce a range of stunning interior items and artwork. Currently Grown bio is focusing on protective packging only.

We assist our customers in growing their business sustainably. Meanwhile, we continue to innovate to improve the quality of our products and test the use of more local waste streams.
We create fully circular products: harvesting agricultural waste streams as input, using reuse/ repurpose principles in our designs, and closing the loop by returning our products as compost to nature.
We continuously challenge ourselves to improve our production processes and logistics infrastructure to minimize our (carbon) footprint, to create a healthier and more sustainable planet.
We are part of the solution to tackle the agricultural ‘waste’ problem, as this stream is valuable input for our products. Thereby, we prevent it from going to landfill or incineration.
Meet Our Team
Our Dutch factory is located in the beautiful Heerewaarden. Every day, our factory team grows thousands of new products and also performs R&D projects.
